Factors Contributing To Entrepreneurship Intention Of Graduate Students:The Case Study Of Private Higher Education Institution In Asella Town

Abstract

This study is intended to fill the gap by exploring the intention and of PHEI students in general and specifically to examine how Gender, Family background, Entrepreneurship education, Perceived access to finance, perceived government policy and Social normaffect Entrepreneurial intention of undergraduate students of private higher education institution. Stratified Simple Random sampling technique was used to draw sample from population. The primary data of this study was gathered by distributing 219 survey questionnaires to respondents at private higher education institution. From these sample questionnaires, the responses of 210 respondents were qualified for analysis and analyzed through Descriptive statistics,Independent T-test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and multiple linear regression Analysis. The results indicated that there are significant and positive relationships between all the independent variables. However, training and skill development programs are necessary to increase the personal capabilities and generate interest and intention among students to have positive attitudes towards entrepreneurship.This paper suggests that there should be continuous effort to promote female entrepreneurship and continuous effort from PHEI to work closely with a variety of business support agencies or other government agencies to raise students' awareness of various avenues of support and programs available to assist them in their business start-ups.
